What are you passionate about?

Last Sunday the message centered around Nehemiah’s activity of building the wall around Jerusalem. Nehemiah became burdened by the need for this wall to reestablish a holy people set apart for God’s purposes.  His passion became the fuel to make it happen.  In fact, as we read in the Scriptures this wall was finished in 52 days!  What passion!  What energy!  What an accomplishment! Hope Changes Everything!

It was 5 o’clock in the morning on July 8th as the alarm clock was going off in my hotel room in Orlando, FL. In the room with me was my son Patrick and my father. We were up early for what was sure to be an amazing day. We traveled to Orlando to see the Final Shuttle Launch (STS-135 Atlantis) at the Kennedy Space Center, but there was one problem – the weather! All the news outlets were reporting a 70% chance of a no launch due to the inclement weather moving into the area. The real world NEEDS a real GOD!

We are beginning a new series at Frazer this week entitled, Real World Transformations, where we will highlight the real lives of six people in the Bible. These great heroes of the past also made many mistakes (Hollywood has nothing on these guys!) along the way as God used each of them for extraordinary purposes.  We will study Moses, David, Nehemiah, Elijah, Esther, and Jonah over the next six weeks.  These bible characters will remind us once again that God desires a person’s availability (heart) far more than their ability (mind).  For without the heart for God’s mission, the capacity of the mind is useless.  I cannot wait to rediscover just what made each of these Old Testament… Read more
