Father’s Day

Today we celebrate Father’s Day. It is a day we honor our fathers who have taken on the responsibility of raising the next generation. To be a Christian parent in today’s world is a difficult task. Good Friday??? Really?

How is it that we proclaim today a good day?  Good Friday???  Really?  Seems like there are other descriptions for today than good.  How about Death Friday?  or Bad Friday?  Dark Friday?  Black Friday?  Sad Friday?  Sin Friday?  See what I mean?  I want today to be called anything but Good Friday.  Good Friday is problematic.  There is nothing good about the day we killed God.  There is nothing comfortable about celebrating or commemorating the day we chose to rid the world of God’s truth.  There is nothing exciting about waking up this morning to the reality that we ignored Jesus.
