Experiencing Pain, Seeing Miracles – Psalm 50:15

What if there are some things we will not know or cannot do without experiencing pain? I am overwhelmed by God’s extravagant grace that has been poured out on me, a sinner.  It was nearly a week ago, that I was running on solid ground when in an instant it began to crumble and fall apart.  It was during the Saturday morning Transformation Run at Fain Park.  I was enjoying what was supposed to be a day filled with recreation.  First, a four-mile run, and then my son’s soccer game, followed by a trip to Tallahassee to see my Florida State Seminoles play the Oklahoma Sooners! 10 Years Later…

The year was 2001.  It was a normal morning.  I was getting ready for work, eating breakfast with my daughter (Kaylee) and my wife.  We were watching the popular TV show Good Morning America, when all of sudden life in America would change forever.  One plane, then another, and another and another crashed into the World Trade Center Towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania.  When all was said and done nearly 3,000 people lost their lives and America lost her innocence.  Feelings of helplessness spread across the entire nation.  It was in that moment I looked at my young daughter and realized that not only my life, but also her future would never be the same. Separation Anxiety

Separation Anxiety – (Read Romans 8:31-39) Caitlin is my precious three-year old daughter. Recently she has been experiencing a bit of separation anxiety with her mommy and daddy.  Like most children, there comes a time when they want to stick close to their parents, grabbing hold of their legs, snuggling in the bed, etc.  However, I have learned that that won’t last long.  Before you know it, they are off and running with busy schedules of their own.  But at this moment, whenever her mother or I leave the house Cate is constantly asking, “mommy is coming right back?  Daddy is coming right back?”  She genuinely wants to know the answer to this question every time we leave… Read more
